FAQ: via ferrata gear hire delivered in Barcelona

We hire out via ferrata kits (harness, energy-absorbing lanyard with carabiners, helmet and rest lanyard), canyoning gear, snowshoes with poles, crampons and ice axes, Ortovox avalanche rescue kits (transceiver, shovel and probe) and climbing and abseiling gear. All with delivery and collection in Barcelona and the surrounding area.

The quickest way is to message us on WhatsApp at +34 644 22 35 55 with the date, the gear, how many people and your sizes. You can also call us, email info@viaferrata.cat or fill in the booking form. We’ll confirm availability as soon as possible.

Yes. The deposit is paid on delivery and we return it on collection, once the gear has been checked. It depends on the number of kits:

• 1 kit: €20
• 2 – 3 kits: €15 per kit (€30 – €45)
• 4 – 6 kits: €60 per booking
• 7 – 10 kits: €80 per booking
• More than 10 kits: agreed in the quote

The deposit doesn’t cover every possible damage: if the cost of a damaged or lost item is higher, we’ll discuss it with you separately.

Yes. The base price covers the weekend and each extra day has a small supplement. For example, the via ferrata kit costs €20 for the weekend and €5 per extra day. For longer hires or groups, ask us for a free quote.

Yes. We check and clean every kit before and after each hire, we work with trusted brands such as Ortovox and TSL, and we retire gear when it’s due, without stretching its lifespan.

We bring the gear wherever we agree (home, work, hotel or the start of the via ferrata) and collect it on the day and at the place we agree with you. We use our own transport, not a courier. Within our area, delivery and collection are free; if you’re further away, just ask.

There’s no minimum notice, but the sooner you message us, the better, especially for weekends and bank holidays.

We deliver and collect in Barcelona and the surrounding area: Barcelonès (Barcelona, Badalona, L’Hospitalet, Santa Coloma), Baix Llobregat (Cornellà, Esplugues, Sant Boi), Vallès (Sant Cugat, Sabadell, Mollet) and Maresme (Mataró, Arenys de Mar, Calella up to Santa Susanna). Staying somewhere else? Just ask.

If it’s your first via ferrata or you only go now and then, hiring is far better value than buying: you don’t spend money on gear you may hardly use, you don’t have to maintain it, and you always get checked equipment.
